Essentials Course

The Postgraduate Essentials in Animal Chiropractic Course is designed as continuing education for chiropractors and veterinarians. The curriculum meets the standard of education put forth by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA), the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association (IVCA) and the Kansas Board of Regents. Its purpose is to provide exceptional education in Animal Chiropractic to ensure that its graduates can practice with the highest Standard of Care.

Course Overview

  • Total Hours: 210+ hours (135 hours of lecture + 75 hours of hands-on labs).
  • Certification: Graduates are eligible to take the national/international certification exams (AVCA or IVCA).
  • Location: All training (including labs) happens on-site in Wellsville, Kansas. No off-site travel is required.

What You Will Learn

The curriculum is divided into five core modules which must be taken in the designated order; Sacropelvic, Thoracolumbar, Cervical, Extremity, and Integrated. Modules cover:

  • Anatomy & Biomechanics: Comparing how horses, dogs, and humans move.
  • Neurology: Understanding how the nervous system affects animal health.
  • Veterinary & Chiropractic Sciences: Blending traditional veterinary medicine with chiropractic philosophy and pathology.
  • Diagnosis: Learning how to analyze gaits, palpate joints, and read diagnostic imaging (X-rays/MRI).
  • Adjusting Techniques: Extensive hands-on practice learning how to safely perform chiropractic adjustments on animals.

Flexible Learning Options

Choose the pace that fits your schedule.

  • The 5-Month Track (Most Popular): Attend one 4.5-day module per month (Wednesday–Sunday).
  • The Accelerated Track: Complete the entire course in 5 consecutive weeks during the summer.
  • Flexibility: You have up to two years to complete all five modules.

Payment Options

We offer two(2) payment options for the Essentials Animal Chiropractic Course:

  • Payment in Full with a Discount: $8,475 USD (After September 1, 2026 new paid in full tuition is $8,725 USD). Full payment must be received by the end of module 1.
  • Standard Payment Plan: $8,725 USD (After September 1, 2026 new Tuition is $8,975 USD). First 2 payments are $2,958 and are due by the end of module 1 and end of module 2.

Deposit: $350.00

The deposit is required to hold a seat. Sessions often fill quickly. Please remit the deposit with the application within thirty (30) days before the start of the first module. When application and deposit or payment is received, you are placed on the roster.

If a group of modules is already filled, you will be notified and have the choice to be placed on a waiting list, have your application processed for the next most convenient session, or have your application returned and all monies refunded.

Books: In addition to tuition, there is a required list of text books and/or other materials that will cost no more than five hundred US Dollars ($500.00 USD).
