Extended Bio
Dr. Marie Bartling was raised in Colorado and truly lives to enjoy nature, animals, and the way of the natural world. She received her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology in 2000, and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 2005. As a young person she was fortunate to have: horses, dogs, cats, birds, lizards, rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, and fish. This experience fueled her drive to become a veterinarian.
She has practiced both small animal and equine medicine and has developed skills in general medicine, diagnostic ultrasound, dentistry, soft tissue surgery. She has worked in practices as a regular care provider in many scenarios from rural Alaska to urban Mexico. Currently she works in a practice that does canine rehabilitation in addition to serving her regular clients with house calls for physical care.
She was certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture in 2007 and chiropractic care in 2012. She has used her physical care skills for horses and dogs in competitive sports, injuries, and for orthopedic and neurological support secondary to arthritis and spinal diseases.
She is a clinical instructor for the Options for Animals College of Animal Chiropractic as well as the Medical Acupuncture course for veterinarians at Colorado State University. She loves to teach and considers her life purpose to be a student, a teacher and healer for animals and humans. It is truly a gift to her to be able practice medicine in a way that is wellness oriented and designed for optimal healing.
Her energy comes from time with her blue heeler, Bella, and her friends and family. She has passion for painting, photography, dancing, and hiking. She speaks Spanish and hopes to become fluent in Spanish and Italian through dance and culinary arts travel exploration, and that her travels and photography will one day fill her house with fantastic photographs and stories.
