Extended Bio
Dr. Drew Spisak is a licensed Veterinarian living in the Kansas City Area of Kansas, where he and his wife Diane have a small farm. The farm is home to horses, world class Akbash Dogs, border collies, several cats (Speedy is his favorite), a flock of sheep, and several types of exotic birds and chickens. If that isn’t enough to keep him busy, Drew loves to play golf and fly general aviation aircraft. After completing a tour of duty in the Air Force, Dr. Spisak attended Kansas State University where in 1976 he completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, in 1980 he completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dairy Science and in 1985 he completed his degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
In 1994, Dr. Spisak’s determination to attain further education in animal care lead him to Sharon Willoughby, D.C., D.V.M., and her classes on animal chiropractic called the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association. These classes were the only of their kind in the world, and attracted students from many nations. In 1995 the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA) certified him in Animal Chiropractic (Cert. # 111). In 2000 he completed a more Advanced Diplomat program of the AVCA and continues his search for further education today.
In addition to treating animal patients, in 1996 Dr. Spisak became an International Instructor for, and a Board Member of, the AVCA. Dr. Spisak now co-owns Options for Animals and Options for Animals College of Animal Chiropractic. With a primary interest in Animal Chiropractic Education & Research, Dr. Spisak resigned form the Board of the AVCA in 2000 and co-founded the International College of Animal Chiropractors in 2003.
Today Dr. Spisak’s Wellsville Veterinary Clinic provides traditional and chiropractic veterinary care for both large and small animals. He teaches and lectures to international audiences, and he has been involved in groundbreaking research.
